Are you looking for a global Systems Test Engineer role in a fast paced, exciting industry?
Our client designs, manufactures, installs and maintains a range of high-tech bespoke industrial equipment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Systems Test Engineer to contribute to the overall system design and perform validation.
The role provides the opportunity to travel to various customer sites around the world, assembling and commissioning the systems. Managing your own time whilst travelling, you will take a lead role in delivering the system to the customer and obtaining theirsign off.
**_Key Responsibilities:_**:

- Reporting to the Head of Service & Delivery, you will be a senior member of the team delivering timely and accurate engineering support and test documentation and performing test and commissioning at a system level.
- Perform assembly and system level testing at their Hampshire HQ
- Lead the engagement with customer engineers and managers who may be present at factory acceptance tests, develop good working relationships and ensure milestone sign-off is achieved.
- Assist with the manufacture and test of components, particularly providing technical support to production during manufacture of new product.
- Work with and co-ordinate other departments as needed to resolve issues discovered during testing.
- Be part of the process to develop and improve test documentation and records.
- Support other project activities as required such as internal and external design reviews and technical meetings.

**_Desirable requirements are:_**:

- HNC/HND or degree qualified in Electrical or RF Engineering or similar field, or equivalent industry experience
- Ideally have broad experience in modular electronic systems (automation, robotics, CNC machinery, military navigation aids) and be experience in working with and maintaining motion-controlled equipment.
- Ability to specify RF equipment such as LNAs, frequency converters, power amplifiers, couplers etc.
- Knowledge of operation of RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analysers, VNAs, power meters etc.
- Understanding of RF levels, gains, losses and the ability to perform cascade analyses and level budgets.
- A practical mindset that can be applied to technical problem solving, understanding and characterising RF equipment and troubleshooting.
- Able to perform mechanical assembly in the field
- Must be able to read engineering drawings
- An understanding and strong ability to operate and configure IT equipment and software
- Basic software knowledge and coding skills
- Experience and a genuine passion for a job within the field of RF, space and satellite communications

Due to the global nature of the role, the position holder must be comfortable working independently and alone when on site as support from the factory can be limited at times due to time zone differences.
Driving licence, Passport and willingness to undertake significant travel is essential.
Must be happy working at heights and in extreme conditions, such as minus 20 or 40 degrees
