Broadcasting Network Engineer (Audio, Video & Multiplexing) | Telecoms / Broadcast MediaRobert Half is supporting a global consulting firm in sourcing an experienced Broadcasting Network Engineer for a major broadcast and connectivity programme. This work sits within a strategic engineering function focused on delivering next-generation Audio/Video processing, multiplexing, and broadcast network services across legacy and cloud environments.Assignment DetailsInitial Duration: 6 months (with potential extension) - start ASAPLocation: Primarily remote - occasional on-site near HampshireDay Rate: £p/dayRole OverviewYou'll work closely with Broadcast Engineering, Network Engineering and Product teams to design, deploy, optimise and troubleshoot Audio & Video processing systems across broadcast and satellite networks. The role requires someone with a blend of broadcast engineering knowledge, multiplexing expertise, strong network fundamentals, and cloud/virtualisation awareness, able to support both legacy platforms and emerging cloud-based media workflows.Key Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Broadcast Engineer, Audio/Video Engineer, or Network Engineer within broadcast or satellite communicationsStrong knowledge of encoding, multiplexing, transcoding and A/V processing technologiesHands-on experience installing, testing, analysing and optimising A/V processing equipmentUnderstanding of IP-based broadcast delivery, contribution/distribution networks and integration with existing broadcast infrastructureAbility to engage with SMEs and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and drive improvementsExperience supporting the integration of legacy broadcast systems with cloud or virtualised architecturesProficiency with diagnostic engineering tools and broadcast monitoring systemsAwareness of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments advantageousStrong documentation, communication and stakeholder management skillsThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to help shape next-generation broadcast network services within a high-impact media and connectivity programme.Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
