**Job summary**:
The Deputy to OC SLW is a brand new role responsible to OC SLW for overseeing engineering responsibilities, risk and project management across Cosford.

Station Logistics Wing is responsible for the support elements of RAF Cosford providing engineering and logistic support to 5 discrete schools, the station and parented units. A varied Wing, SLW encompasses C4i, Logistics, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, Engineering Support and Airfield Operations.

This post is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Manage all RAF Cosford related safety risks on behalf of Head of Establishment, Principal Engineer, OC SLW and OC Base Support Wing (BSW); working with Deputy Chief of Staff DSAE to delineate school and RAF Cosford risks. Establishing and managing appropriate risk management governance.

Assist in the management and delivery of projects across the Wing and wider Cosford in support to OC SLW and OC BSW. This will cover everything from analysing business requirements to ensure alignment to wider Wing and Station strategies; building business cases; securing funding and monitor/ track deliverability and associated risks to delivery.

Co-ordinate prepare and display information as applicable (and from appropriate sources) pertinent to making business decisions for Cosford - this would involve using PowerBi or other tools to help present the data.

Oversee the Wing Quality Management System and remediation across the Wing, ensuring action is managed and tracked inc. engineering authorisations and letters of delegations.

Assist in the re-augmentation of workforce and activities across SLW to ensure the Wing meets the needs of the future RAF. Where appropriate adopt activity relevant and respective to capacity and grade of post. This will likely include adoption of Line Management responsibilities within 12 months of taking up post.

There may be a small amount of administrative work acting as Secretary to meetings chaired by OC SLW.
