This exciting opportunity joining the London and Thames valley team will see you make a real difference as you lead on quality improvement and quality monitoring across the region.
The role will be home based, however the expectation is that the role holder will travel and cover the geographical patches within the Greater London region and Thames Valley, and work from the office at least once a week. Travel expenses will be covered.
The Quality Improvement and Assurance Lead will support the Head of Region and work closely with the National Head of Quality and Performance and other Quality Improvement and Assurance Leads across the country, in the further development and leadership of its quality assurance processes.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- Reporting to the Head of Region, the Quality, Improvement and Assurance Lead will play an important role in supporting teams to collect and assess quality data about learner experiences across the whole learner journey, ensuring we understand our strengths and weaknesses and work towards an outstanding learner offer.
You will lead on observations in region, oversee the quality processes for accredited and RARPA assessment, support teams in successful quality walkthroughs and the implications of retention, achievement & progression data for student success. You will support in the production of the regions self-assessment report.
You will have a key role to play through sharing your vision and enthusiasm for getting things right for learners, supporting the regional tutors in their continuing professional development and supporting operational managers with performance management implementation.
As part of this you will:

- You will undertake internal quality audits and deep dives
- Help the region to prepare for any inspections.
- Act as regional EME and Accreditation lead
- Coordinate and support on the moderation of RARPA courses
- Act as the key link between regional leadership and the National Quality and Performance Team.
- Lead on implementing the national observation cycle in region and be a key member of the national observation team.
- Aid regional managers to implement support and challenge for tutors effectively through performance management
- Support, monitor and review the operation of the Quality Assurance and Self-Assessment policy within the London Region.
- Supporting the Head of Region and Regional Management Team to embed quality improvement processes where required.

This role has a teaching expectation (0.2 FTE) which will allow you to share your expertise on regional or national internal CPD for tutors, mentoring, and/or share your curriculum and vocational expertise through modelling outstanding teaching practice within learner facing courses.

As a Quality Improvement and Assurance Lead, you should have:

- A teaching qualification;
- An assessor and internal verification qualification;
- A good understanding of the width and depth of post-19 curriculum and qualifications;
- Experience of supporting the development of teaching, learning and assessment in further education;
- A sound understanding of English, Maths and ESOL;
- Experience of observing teaching and learning and moderating observations;
- Excellent communications skills including presentations and report writing across a range of audiences;
- Ability to lead, support, mentor and coach teams and individuals in order that they can reach their potential and to ensure continuous improvement of quality in line the Association's aspirations for learners;
- an excellent grasp of analysing data and identify trends and issues, using data to manage quality improvement, and prioritising work.
- an understanding of planning and monitoring workloads with competing priorities for others would be advantageous
