**About the Team**
This is an exciting opportunity to join the wider Organisational Learning Quality and Improvement (OLQI) team, which is part of our Change and Continuous Improvement Function. The OLQI team is responsible for reviewing the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of processes and process outputs by recording, identifying, understanding, and analysing opportunities for improvement and good practice. We enable a culture of learning, quality, innovation and improvement which leads to lasting change.
The QA team which you will lead, sits within the OLQI team. The QA team delivers the corporate Quality Assurance (QA) function across the NMC delivering_ _innovative assurance, audit, review and improvement initiatives, driving sustainable change through identification of evidence-based learning opportunities often at fast pace, across complex areas supporting our Corporate plan. The QA team is responsible for identifying risks and data driven opportunities for improvement through quality assurance reviews in collaboration with stakeholders.
**About the Role**
You will develop and champion a clear vision, fostering a culture of learning, quality and improvement across the NMC. You will work with and influence senior leaders and external stakeholders, shaping strategies and processes enabling effective quality assurance, quality management and improvement across the NMC. This will often inform the response to emerging strategic, high profile, sensitive or cross cutting issues through reviews, identifying improvement opportunities to reduce recurrence and mitigate risk.
You will lead a team to deliver ‘second line of defence’, including an annual programme of QA audits and reviews, partnering with operational heads and change leads at ‘first line’ to monitor the effectiveness of their areas of responsibility.
You will lead the development and introduction of innovative and effective approaches to capture, prioritise and embed learning within ways of working across organisational systems, partnering with executives and operational leads to support and drive improvements. You will deliver high quality learning and thematic reports to Executive Board through collation, analysis, reporting and monitoring of emerging organisational risks and issues.
**About You**
- Experience in proactively identifying areas of improvement; leading and carrying out root cause analysis, audit and assurance, development and implementation of innovative, workable solutions and methods for improving quality, ensuring continuous improvement through identification of organisational learning
- Proven ability to analyse, and present complex information clearly and persuasively and produce accurate, timely, high quality written evidence and reports to Board level standard
- Experience of managing and implementing changes to operational processes and systems to challenging timescales.
- Strong negotiating skills with proven ability to challenge constructively, lead and influence senior colleagues. Strong relationship building and skills, able to secure the confidence of senior colleagues
- People management and leading by excellence to create an environment and culture for colleagues so everyone can be at their best and where they have opportunities to succeed and thrive.
- Experience of leading and managing high-performing team(s) to deliver a programme of work, sharing best practice, building capabilities and resilience at an organisational level.
