**BORED WITH YOUR MUNDANE SALES ROLE?** We are looking for people who want something different. Different to the sales milk-round. Different to the never ending cycle of _prospect-present-close-repeat _ **THE BACKGROUND** Here’s some background. We operate in the waste management industry and we are a key player in our region for card, paper and plastic recycling services. What we do matters and we are proud to play our part in the global war on waste. Following a period of rapid growth we have just relocated to a much bigger facility in Andover. This move has massively increased capacity and is enabling us to take the business to the next level. **A VERY DIFFERENT ROLE** We are now actively hunting for business development managers, or Traders as we call them internally. The role of Trader in the waste industry is very different to most sales jobs. For starters, you will be buying _from_ your customers We appreciate that this sounds back to front - but it is part of what make the role so much more interesting than a mundane sales job Another factor that makes this role very different is the way that success is measured. Instead of a sales target, your success will depend on the volume of material secured and the profit you make on each deal **RUN YOUR OWN SHOW** As a Trader you will have a high level of autonomy day to day. You will be responsible for negotiating prices and for making deals. You get to choose whether to sacrifice profit in return for volume or vice-versa. Global paper prices are constantly changing and your inside knowledge of where the market is going will help you win. This is fast-paced role and you will thrive if you love the cut and thrust of rapid negotiation and think-on-your-feet deal making. This role will appeal to you if you are a natural gambler - "knowing when to hold 'em and knowing when to fold 'em" **NOT FOR EVERYONE** This role is not for everyone - you will need to be exceptional at relationship building and you must excel at thinking on your feet. You will need these skills above anything else - they matter more than experience. The role offers a good basic of 40k - but we are looking for people who want to earn a _lot_ more than that.
