**Attendance & Welfare Officer**
We are seeking an experienced positive, proactive and personable individual who is resilient and effective communicator. This is a wonderful opportunity to work alongside the amazing teams at our different academies gaining extensive experience within therealms of education and support. Over the last few years, we have built successful partnerships with all our academies and local authority colleagues.
Working as part of the Central Team and specifically to support the Trust Manager for Pupil Attendance and Welfare. This is a newly growing team within the trust with scope to grow even larger.
- Have significant experience of working with schools and/or families
- Have experience of multi-agency working to support children and/or families including making referrals.
- Have an understanding of attendance matters and parental responsibility measures.
- Have working knowledge of child protection / safeguarding of children and young people
- Be able to work independently and with initiative managing own diary and workload.
- Be able to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact.
- Have a pragmatic approach
- Have good communication skills
- Be energetic, well-motivated and flexible
- Have a professional manner and plenty of common sense
- Have the ability to undertake home visits as part of a team, or as a lone worker, whilst risk assessing for personal safety.
- Be able to recognise and be alert to concerns of a safeguarding nature and raise as appropriate.
**Education and skills**
- Range of GCSE’s including Math’s and English C and above.
- NVQ 3 (E) - NVQ 4 (D), or equivalent, in a related field. ie: health and social care, supporting families with multiple and complex needs
- Mental health training
- Mentoring abilities.
- Evidence of on-going professional development relevant to the post.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Working within tight timescales
- Experience of attending CP conferences, Early Help meetings
- Ability to engage and work with families, young people and children
- Excellent planning, organisation and monitoring skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues
- Patience and resilience
- Willingness to reflect on own practice to continually improve
- Ability to use IT and SIMS.
- Good sense of humor
- Commitment to improving outcomes for all children
- Commitment to Equal Opportunities and anti-discrimination practice for families and service delivery
- Personal commitment to safeguarding
The post holder must have a full driving license and use of a car
**Job Specifics**:
- **Start Date**asap
- **Salary**NJC L6 21-25 £26,511-£29,577 pro rata salary £25,032-£27,927 dependent of experience
- **Job Role**Permanent, Full time 37hrs per week, Mon-Thu 8.30am-4.30pm Fri 8.30am-4pm Term time plus 4 weeks
