Assistant Finance Business Partner

At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our team.

This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Finance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the organisation's financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Covering everything from day-to-day financial operations to long-term financial planning & analysis, including the delivery of our recapitalisation programme

As an Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the Finance Business Partner in our UK Defence workstream, by analysing monthly accounts (Revenue, WIP, COS, Margin) and monitoring cash vs. revenue and accrued income to ensure liquidity. Provide insights on budget variances, drive process improvements to focus on value-added activities, and produce regular & ad hoc financial reports.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Complete month end procedures, linking in with central finance and project managers to ensure all relevant costs and revenue are captured correctly.
- Produce month end commentary and analysis for the Finance Business Partner and Head of Business Partnering.
- Support WIP Analysis and supporting calculations.
- Calculate Commission Payments due and post necessary accruals Journals.
- Produce balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support invoicing analysis.
- Support job costings.
- Compile a weekly executive report.
- Continuously improve our processes, financial models and reporting to increase opportunity for value add work.

**About You**
- Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA or equivalent, or training towards qualification.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Power BI skills are a distinct advantage.
- Ability to manipulate large data sets.
- Experience financial modelling building.

**The Working Pattern**

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.
