As an expert in financial systems, the Systems Accountant will administer the finance system, champion internal controls, and prepare accurate and timely accounts for the UK business.

**Client Details**

My client is a well renowned business operating in the Not for Profit and Charities sector. They have a fantastic reputation both locally and globally and offer excellent benefits for their employees. They are looking for a Systems Accountant to join theirgrowing team based in Oxford.

**Description**

Systems Accountant responsibilities:

- Manage the Assistant Systems Accountants in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Administer IT systems used in UK Finance in accordance with UK Finance requirements
- Assist Fin Ops team in preparing the financial accounts for the UK business, and deliver a financial accounting service according to agreed service levels, working standards, policies and procedures
- Maintain records so that systems work can be assessed, assigned to systems staff, and tracked
- Champion internal controls and the integrity of financial systems, and report non-compliance
- Act in partnership with staff in the business to ensure that services provided support the business, and that all parties communicate effectively, and work co-operatively and with mutual respect
- Coordinate the maintenance of documentation of working practices and procedures
- Maintain the chart of accounts, including creating new accounts, cost centres, profit centres, etc, ensuring changes are authorised and documented
- Liaise with team managers in UK Finance, other stakeholders, and IT re the allocation of access to drives and directories, SAP, and other UK Finance systems
- Oversee access rights of new/left users to relevant systems ensuring that the level of access is appropriate to each person's job role, and is authorised
- Manage the day to day running of finance systems, and ensure data integrity
- Open and close periods at month end
- Perform reconciliations of interfaces between SAP and other systems, including Advantage, IPM, Themis
- Run and check the daily controls reports, investigate the reasons for differences, and work with IT to resolve problems
- Ensure compliance with internal & external audit requirements, and legal requirements such as the Data Protection Act
- Other Ad Hoc tasks

**Profile**
- Must be immediately available or on short notice
- Previous experience in a systems accountant role at a large organisation
- **SAP experience essential**:

- Advanced Excel skills
