A vacancy has arisen for a part time (18.5 hours per week) Finance Officer to join the Cambridgeshire Constabulary Business Support Unit in delivering essential business and financial support services to Local Policing. The role will be based at our Thorpe Wood (Peterborough) Police Station with the occasional requirement to travel to other sites. Working days and hours to be discussed at interview.

The post holder will work alongside another Finance Officer and as part of a small team with other Business Support Administrators, reporting to the Business Support Local Policing Advisor.

The post holder will be required to undertake a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to);
- Using the CARM duty management system, highlight and resolve any overtime issues and associated entitlements.
- To oversee the departmental e-procurement processes, across the three BSU teams.
- To prepare for banking the seized cash received from the Property department.
- To design, develop and provide accurate and timely reporting in relation to Local Policing overtime, based on user requirements.
- To prepare all documentation relating to mutual aid and external charging opportunities to ensure that costs and income are recorded and recovered correctly.
- To manage the BSU petty cash at Thorpe Wood and to oversee the process in the other teams.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, a finance qualification or 3 years relevant demonstrable experience working in a finance administration-based role
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office and M365
Experience of analysing data and interrogating systems to make recommendations to senior managers.
- Experience and understanding of budgets and associated processes.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload and work independently, with attention to detail whilst working under pressure and at pace.
- An ability to work effectively with other department team members and to build effective working relationships at all levels.

The role requires the post holder to be able to travel between sites.
