The Sister / Charge Nurse / Charge ODP is to work as a skilled member of the Anaesthetic & Recovery theatre team, providing a high standard of clinical care.
The Sister / Charge Nurse / Charge ODP is required to work shifts participating in the provision of a 24 hour theatre service. They will also be required to take charge of the department as Theatre Coordinator Monday to Saturday and also outside normal working hours when required.
The Sister / Charge Nurse / Charge ODP must retain the ability to work flexibly by maintaining a high level of skills in 2 areas of practice (Anaesthetics, Recovery or Scrub) and at least one area of advanced practice or must commence advanced training within 6 months
Where the Sister / Charge Nurse / CODP is required to practice as a Surgical First Assistant role they must have evidence of completion of an appropriate, competency based training prior to selection for this post
