The Sister/Charge Nurse/Charge ODP is to work as a skilled member of the Orthopaedic theatre team, providing a high standard of clinical care.
The Sister/Charge Nurse/Charge ODP is required to work shifts Mon - Fri during day shifts and expected to participate in the provision of a 24 hour theatre service, taking charge of the department outside normal working hours when required.

The Sister/Charge Nurse/Charge ODP must retain the ability to work flexibly by maintaining a high level of skills in 2 areas of practice (scrub specialties, anaesthetics or recovery) and at least one area of advanced practice or must commence advanced training within 6 months

The Sister/Charge Nurse/CODP is required to practice as a Surgical First Assistant role as such they must have evidence of completion of an appropriate, competency based training prior to selection for this post.
