**About us**
The garden centre has operated from the site at East Ord for 40 years and it has grown significantly in that time.
The group is majority family owned and the three centres across the business each have their own identity; the others being at Dunbar and Seaton Burn (North of Newcastle).
We employ over 150 people and have a Turnover approaching £10M.
**The Role**
We are seeking an EPOS Administrator for our busy garden centre at Berwick. This is a crucial operating role within the team.
The business has invested significantly in a new leading edge EPOS system and you will be responsible for its administration in the centre. This links up our stock management across the whole business and includes plants, gifts, pets, homeware, clothing, Christmas and restaurant sales. This is one of three EPOS roles in the group and although working within one centre you also be part of the wider EPOS team.
Inputting data of all goods received to ensure correct retail and cost pricing, your work will ensure that we can accurately process stock information and allocate the correct pricing. This will also include creating and amending large amounts of product information. Thereafter responsibility for ensuring our data is correct and subsequent reporting to management on stock levels and trends will be a regular feature.
There is a further requirement to carry out regular housekeeping / maintenance tasks to ensure clean and accurate data.
There will be a responsibility to ensure all tills and card machines are in place, up to date and ready to operate as the business requires. Also the day-to-day administration of EPOS issues as they arise and the handling of queries on the system to support operator colleagues will feature.
Further duties will include assisting with training to enable all staff to operate tills and stock systems, external audit for verification of all areas related to EPOS sales and the carrying out of a rolling stock take on all stock items to ensure correct stock values are reported to management/audit.
We expect team members to be flexible and therefore working across other departments and possibly weekends may be required depending on business needs.
Some experience of working in a retail environment and operating with EPOS systems would be of benefit but is not a pre-requisite as full training will be given.
We are looking for someone with a can-do, positive attitude to join our team. You will be a focal point in our business so the ability to get on with all team members is essential for the smooth and harmonious running of the operation.
A quick and keen learner you will have the skills to adapt to changing priorities whilst still carrying out your duties with an eye for detail. We need you to be consistent, methodical and reliable and have an appreciation of the key role you will fulfill in our centre.
You will need to be organised and structured in your approach and possess a good level of PC literacy and know how.
