Employee Relations Specialist

**Purpose of the Role**
To provide a full Employee Relations service to a client group of circa 3500 people nationally.Working directly with the national HR Advisory Team in supporting with employee relations matters in the main areas of performance management, disciplinaries,grievances and appeals. The individual will provide guidance and views on case work as well as manage their own case load.

A fast paced and friendly team who support the Property Management Division nationally.Each region has local HR support who build effective relationships with their client groups supporting management in day to day HR Advisory.Supporting the Advisoryteam is an HR Operations team, based in Manchester and who cover a majority of the day to day administration to the team.
**Key Responsibilities**
**ER Case Management**
- Work with the HR Advisory Team to effectively case manage through to resolution, including performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and appeals
- Direct case management on matters including complex formal disciplinary and grievance investigations, appeals, restructures and dispute resolution
- Support the HR Advisory team with headcount management/restructure activity as needed
- Coach line managers on complex ER matters, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders to resolve employee issues and build management capability
- Review documentation including disciplinary and grievance investigations and performance improvement plans
- Produce high quality documentation, including formal outcome letters, employee communications and appeal documentation
**Strategic ER Policy and Projects**
- Support the ongoing refresh of employment policies and toolkits, including research, consulting with the HR Advisory Team, drafting, and supporting communications roll out as appropriate
- Deliver key HR/ER projects within the wider team and HR project plan
- Identify wider areas for process and policy improvement to streamline management of ER matters to improve experience for line managers and employees, avoid future issues and better manage situations going forwards
**ER Technical Expertise**
- Continue to develop strong understanding of core ER policies and procedures, and associated employment laws
- Attend regular external Employment Law events to ensure advice is up to date with both current legislation and case law
- Work with our employment law advisors to ensure best practice is followed
- Share learnings across the HR team, taken from individual case management/advisory activities and external landscape, to improve knowledge and understanding of ER issues across the team
Manage the process of the transfer of employees (both in and out), ensuring the Company complies with TUPE regulations and that any transition of employees is smooth and professional with the least disruption to the employee
**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
**Technical experience:

- Experience of fast-paced, progressive commercial organisations
- CIPD Qualified or equivalent work experience
- Sound experience across all HR disciplines
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural, diverse environment
- ER experience demonstrated with proven direct complex case management and advisory/coaching support to HR colleagues, line managers and staff
- Excellent up to date Employment Law knowledge
