Employee Relations SpecialistLocation: ManchesterContract Type: Permanent | Full-time Hybrid WorkingAbout the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People Advisory team. In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on complex employment matters, support managers in creating a leader-led culture, and ensure compliance with UK employment legislation. You’ll play a key part in delivering a high-quality advisory service that enhances colleague experience and drives process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver expert advice on a range of employment-related matters including conduct, performance, absence management, flexible working, and Occupational Health referrals.Manage ER cases effectively, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and employment tribunals.Support and coach managers, attending meetings as required.Leverage Jira for workload management, ensuring timely resolution of HR tasks and meeting SLAs.Assist in designing and delivering development programs for managers on performance, absence, and grievance management.Identify risks, track issues through to resolution, and proactively seek process improvements with a focus on automation and manager self-service.Interpret and apply policies and procedures, escalating matters where appropriate.Stay up to date with employment law, regulations, and best practices.Skills & ExperienceExtensive experience in a People Advisory or ER-focused role.Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, ACAS Codes, and case law.Proven track record of managing complex ER cases.Excellent written communication skills, including drafting investigation reports and outcome letters.Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.CIPD qualification (or working towards) preferred.Experience with SMCR and FCA Conduct Rules is beneficial.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and development.A collaborative and inclusive work environment.
