North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Practitioner to join our Continuous Improvement and Learning Team within Women and Children’s Health Services.

The Continuous Improvement and Learning Practitioner will be responsible for providing support for staff and managers in all aspects of quality and patient safety within the Division. The post holder will ensure that systems and processes are in place to support a systematic approach to reporting, assessment, investigation, analysis, evaluation and management of clinical and non-clinical risk. This includes management of adverse incidents when they occur.
The post holder will lead on WACH response to the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) as part of implementing the NHS Patient Safety Strategy 2019. PSIRF is best considered as a learning and improvement framework with the emphasis placed on the system and culture that support continuous improvement in patient safety through how we respond to patient safety incidents.
The post holder will act as the key driver supporting day to day quality improvement initiatives including the implementation of national strategic drivers, national and local guidelines, audit, perinatal mortality reviews and learning from complaints and patient feedback. They will also be a professional role model, leading and coordinating the team as required, always behaving in an exemplary manner and responsible for dissemination training and providing advice.

They will be accountable for the overall provision of excellent care, providing evidenced based, woman centred midwifery and nursing care, delivered in a variety of models and in all settings. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, external agencies and service user representatives to promote learning and improvement, involving all relevant stakeholders. The post holder will provide leadership, guidance and expertise within the Division team focused on continuous learning and improvement for WACH.
