**Babcock Corporate Services (BCS)**
The Account Payable Assistant role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit.
Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world. BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embeddedalongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group andour external customers.
**The role
The difference our newAccounts Payable Assistantwill make**
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be providing support and cover within the Accounts Payable Team, with the aim to support with invoice processing, payment runs, support of cash flow forecasts and creditorledger reconciliations.
Day to day, you will be responsible for the delivery of various operational finance activities, including invoice and credit note processing, preparation and gaining authorisation of BACS payment Run proposals and urgent payments. Other responsibilitiesinclude material support of internal and external audit requirements and participation in business month end reviews of creditors ledger.
Moreover, as a Accounts Payable Assistant, you will ensure that all operational processes are delivered within Babcock's Governance and controls framework, amongst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of services provided.

**Essential experience**:
- Experience in the Accounts Payable function
- Demonstrate experience with providing effective and clear communication, particularly when presenting and explaining data clearly and concisely
- Data entry experience
- Knowledge of IFS / SAP (desirable)
- Experience in the use of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Currently hold/ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
