Due to the forthcoming maternity leave of a member of our Accounts team, we have a full time **maternity cover** vacancy for an **Accounts Assistant - Accounts Payable, **for approximately 12 months, starting in March/April.
After successful completion of initial training, the post holder will be eligible for our hybrid home-working scheme, by agreement with the Finance Manager.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following.
- Processing of vendor invoices;
- Preparation of fortnightly payment run;
- Raising credit notes & refunds for customers;
- Providing assistance to VAT specialist in preparation of monthly/quarterly returns;
- Setting up new suppliers in the system and maintaining correct details for existing ones;
- Processing urgent payments out of the payment run period and associated manual posting process in the system;
- Monitoring of days worked by Contractors in line with requirements;
- Sending proof of payment breakdowns to suppliers on request;
- Full responsibility for vendor liaison in relation to invoice queries and credit note requests;
- Assisting the Finance Manager with the month end accruals process;
- Assist in the reconciliation of accounts payable during month end;
- Administration tasks, filing, scan and upload of documents to central data system and retrieval of documents both physical and electronic.
- Assist with Year End Audits
**The successful applicant will have**:
- At least 1 year of basic bookkeeping & accounts experience.
- Experience of working in an international business. (Desirable)
- Basic understanding of VAT process and various treatments
- Basic qualifications in English and Mathematics/Numeracy
