**The Job**
The Mentors will work with children in an education setting to encourage and make a positive impact on the lives of young people. The role will vary depending on the needs of individual students but will be supporting children with their learning.
The main aim of a school Mentor is to reduce the harmful effects of Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties that currently affect the Learner. This is a key role in ensuring that the young person’s current situation does not have a long-term damaging effect on their education and overall wellbeing.
**School Mentor Core Responsibilities**:
- Mentor young people
- Working collaboratively with the learning support team
- Become a positive role model for the young person
- Liaise with SENCo, Classroom Teacher and any other key professionals in pupil's education, to inform them of progress.
- Provide discreet, one to one support or small group support to the learner/s
- To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning
- An ability to build strong, trusting relationships

To join us and be successful in this **Mentor role**, you will need:
- A minimum of six weeks experience of supporting young people which you can evidence with references.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to pay for a new one)
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Provide a CV with up to date employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
- Legal right to work in the UK
