**Job Title: Lead Youth Worker - Voice Programme**

**Location**: Hideaway Youth Centre and other sites as required
**Reports To**: Operations Manager / Director
**Salary**: JNC point 14. Approx. 24K+ a year for 4 days - equivalent £30K + full time.
**Contract Type**: Fixed Term / Permanent 2 year contract
**Hours**: 28 hours per week across 4 days (Monday - Thursday). Flexibility required for evening and weekend work if needed.

**About the Role**:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dynamic **Lead Youth Worker** to lead our **Voice Programme**, designed to empower young people to find and use their voice to influence change within their communities and beyond.

The Lead Youth Worker will be pivotal in developing and delivering youth-led projects, facilitating inclusive spaces, and working alongside young people to amplify their ideas, campaigns, and creative expressions. This role combines direct youth engagement with leadership responsibilities, programme development, and partnership building.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Programme Leadership**:

- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Voice Programme in alignment with Hideaway's goals.
- Ensure youth participation and co-production are embedded in all stages of programme design and delivery.
- **Youth Engagement**:

- Build trusting relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Facilitate workshops, mentoring sessions, and forums that support youth voice, leadership, and advocacy.
- Support young people to develop campaigns, media content, and projects that reflect their views and aspirations.
- **Safeguarding & Wellbeing**:

- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Provide guidance and emotional support to young people, referring to specialist services as needed.
- **Team Leadership**:

- Supervise and support youth workers, volunteers, and peer mentors involved in the programme.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- **Partnership & Collaboration**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, local authorities, community partners, and funders.
- Represent the programme at local forums, events, and stakeholder meetings.
- **Monitoring & Evaluation**:

- Track outcomes, feedback, and impact data to report on the programme’s effectiveness.
- Contribute to funding reports and proposals by providing accurate programme data and success stories.

**Person Specification**:
**Essential**:

- Significant experience in youth work or a similar field, including leading projects or programmes.
- Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people aged 11-25.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the principles of youth empowerment.

**Desirable**:

- Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Education, Community Development or similar.
- Experience with youth-led media, social action, or campaign work.
- Understanding issues affecting young people today (e.g., mental health, social justice, digital engagement).
- Experience managing teams or volunteers.
