**Job Purpose**

**Key Accountabilities**
- Typical activities will vary according to the specific department where the individual works but may include:

- Slaughtering/Primal cutting against Company procedure/EU regulation
- Cutting, boning and trimming meat against strict specifications
- Checking the product against specifications (size, weight, colour, packaging etc)
- Adjusting machine settings to handle changes from one size/type of product to another
- Identifying errors/faults and taking appropriate steps to rectify these
- Reporting faults in machinery or goods to Team Leader
- Packing goods ready for shipment in crates, boxes or dolavs (as required), against quantity and layout specifications
- Preparing product for despatch. This could include taping, labelling and wrapping in approved protective coatings
- Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times (e.g. hand-washing, knife sterilising and kit wash-down), food safety is a key imperative
- Where the individual has responsibility for goods in/goods out, ensuring goods are used on a short code first basis
- Competently performing any other tasks for which training has been completed and signed off
- Being an ambassador for the business at all times, behaving in a professional and courteous manner with both internal and external customers
- Strict adherence to Health & Safety rules and procedures. It is every employee’s duty, no matter what is their position within the Company, to assist the employer with its responsibilities towards Health and Safety
- Attending and taking active part in various training activities or helping with training of other colleagues

- Attention to detail/good observational skills to spot faults/contamination
- Ability to work quickly in order to meet production targets
- Good team working skills and the ability to work on own
- Ability to follow strict health & safety guidelines and quality procedures
- Patience to carry out repetitive tasks
- Self-motivation
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required
