The RSK Group is looking to recruit experienced SHEQ professionals on a full time basis to join its management systems team to assist in the provision and continued delivery of solutions to achieve quality assurance in the company’s work, together with attainment of best practice in safety, health and environmental management. The RSK Group is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

We operate a mixed working arrangement for many of our office-based employees.

Environmental Advisor - Leeds

**Responsibilities will include**:
Work with the Environmental Manager to administer & evolve the Environmental Management Systems in accordance with the Company business needs, relevant standards (i.e. ISO 14001), and Group Rules.

Help to deliver the environmental aspects and impacts programme

Assist the Environmental Manager with implementing the environmental strategy

Develop and maintain company environmental audit protocols to ensure that business unit processes are compliant with the company management system across the Group.

Conduct site based environmental audits as part of the systems and legal compliance programme

Work proactively with the business units to help rectify feedbacks and put measures in place to prevent further occurrences.

Champion environmental initiatives, report on associated metrics

Help to deliver and provide relevant training to the organisation on environmental requirements, initiatives, and associated topics i.e., spill response

Provide practical support with the implementation of environmental requirements and initiatives with business units, premises, and project sites

Represent the company during relevant external audits

Maintain CPD by attending industry group meetings, conferences, and seminars

Occasional involvement in other department projects and initiatives, as required by the SHEQ senior leadership team.

Person specification

At least 2 years’ experience in an environmental management position

Experience in working with and implementing ISO 14001, with a base knowledge of environmental regulations

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an environmental field

IEMA membership is desired but not essential

Civils or construction experience an advantage but not essential

The ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

The ability to travel with nights away from home to fulfil programme needs.

Strong written and verbal communication is essential to the role.

Self-motivated, with diligence, integrity and ambition.

Must hold a full UK drivers’ licence.

Additional qualifications/memberships in Health, Safety and Environment an advantage.
