Location: Grimsby to Walpole - On-site (national travel required)

Sector: Power Infrastructure

Are you passionate about driving sustainable practices in large-scale construction projects?

Laing O'Rourke are seeking a proactive Environmental Advisor to support our team on a flagship project site. This role will form part of a growing environment team as part of an evolving flagship project portfolio, which is set to run over the next decade.

This role requires a hands-on professional who can seamlessly split their time between the site office and out in the field, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing risks, and championing sustainable practices throughout the construction process. You will split your time between site office and out in the field with current projects based Grimsby to Walpole and Brinsworth to High Marnham.

We are supporting a major power upgrade for the National Grid - one of the largest upgrades to the UK power network in decades — a transformative, high-value project that will shape the nation's energy future. As part of this project we are delivering a package of 114km of enabling works, 207 tower foundations and construction of a new substation.

  • Support the implementation of environmental management plans and sustainability initiatives
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation as required

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an Environmental Advisor or similar role within the construction or energy sector
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and standards relevant to large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience doing in-field environmental monitoring tasks such as collecting water samples, ground investigative works, setting up noise and vibration monitoring equipment and ability to present findings
  • Good understanding of ISO 14001 EMS and implementation of project CEMP requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Relevant qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, or related fields
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the project site

Why Join Us?
