An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Night Supervisor to join us to lead the Despatch Team throughout the night operation. The hours are normally 0000-0800 (40 hours a week), but a flexibility is required as hours may vary.

**Purpose**

Reporting to the Hub Manager, the Night Supervisor is responsible for delivering effective overnight management of the Despatch operational function and any processing activity required throughout the night. Ensuring that all vehicles are prepared correctly, all mail is despatched within agreed timescales and mail processing is running at an optimum level. They will also act as point of contact for Drivers; providing debriefing support as appropriate until the day staff arrive.

**Main Duties**:

- Report directly into the Processing Manager
- Manage Despatch Shift to see an effective load out of all traffic
- Maintain records and review documents prepared by the team
- Perform the duties of a warehouse operative where this is required
- Be responsible for H&S compliance for the team. Investigate and report any breaches of Health & Safety regulations and incidents/accidents
- Communicate work practices, procedures and methods to team members, as required
- Assist in the recruitment process of your team members where required; screening CV’s, interviewing and facilitating all relevant associated paperwork
- Conduct induction and training for new (both permanent and agency) team members as required
- Record and Manage KPI Reporting
- Working with HR to effectively manage the people in your team throughout all aspects of Employee Relations
- To hold monthly team meetings and to provide Agendas & Minutes
- To have some knowledge of costs and numbers to ensure costs are under control

**Essential Experience**:

- At least 2 years’ experience of managing within a Warehousing & Distribution fast paced environment
- Experience of working in a 24/7 operation
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to communicate in English

**Desirable Experience**:

- Experience of working with yard management processes
- Qualified to operate a Fork Lift truck

**Training/Qualifications**
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English
- IT Skills and able to use Microsoft Excel proficiently

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £26,418.88 per year
