**People Assistant** **Location**: Birmingham - Hybrid **Salary**: £23,000 - £25,000 (DoE) **Why do we want you?** You are an experienced HR Assistant / HR Administrator looking for a varied and exciting, global HR role where you can learn from and share knowledge within a friendly, people focused team. Our ambition is to have the best people work with us at Wilmington, delivering their best work because we care about them, include them and empower them. **We will support you, develop you and recognise you.** As a member of our People Shared Services team, you will play an important role in providing support to the business in an efficient and customer focused manner. Working closely with the wider People team, including our People Business Partners, People Advisors and Centres of Expertise, you will be the first point of contact, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions with the abilityto develop your knowledge and expertise along the way. **Your day-to-day will be busy and varied and your responsibilities include a broad range of global People support activities and transactional processes, such as**: - Processing of all employee life cycle matters relating to Payroll and People ensuring these are timely and accurate adhering to company procedures - Providing a professional service and first line People support for our employees in a timely manner - Conducting the People induction as part of the onboarding process for new joiners - Supporting line managers during the probation process and conducting new joiner feedback interviews - Conducting exit interviews with leavers - Ensuring documents and data are maintained in line with GDPR - Attending disciplinary, performance, grievance and investigation meetings in the capacity of note taker, as required - Supporting the team in delivering People projects and initiatives, as required - Contributing to continuous improvement of People processes, documents and services - Attending and taking an active role in People meetings **In order to be successful in this role you will need**: - Experience in the same or similar role with a solid understanding of core People matters - Excellent written and verbal communication skills when engaging with employees of all levels - Organisational skills to meet deadlines - Exceptional attention to detail - right first-time approach - Excellent listening skills when approaching sensitive situations and handle confidentially with complete discretion - Good IT skills, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the drive to understand a variety of systems and databases - Experience using HR systems desired - Ability to work with mínimal direction and in a team environment - Should have the ability to align People tasks to operational requirements **You need to be the kind of person who** Is a professional and confident individual who is tactful, diplomatic and approachable. You will have strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels and stay calm in difficult situations. You will work with a high level ofintegrity and confidentiality with have meticulous attention to detail.
