Hales Group are working with an award-winning and ambitious public sector organisation set within East Norfolk. They have an exciting opportunity for a new role as a Company Accountant to join their finance team.
This role requires the preparation of the annual accounts for the subsidiaries and working with the accountant to produce the group accounts and support the audit process.

You will need a clear understanding of VAT and Corporation Tax implications for the business, proactively seeking advice when and where required. You will be advising management on tax planning, tax issues and also be completing the monthly VAT returns.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Providing the operational teams in the business with a high standard of financial support.
- Produce reports and analysis to present to operations, management and the company board demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the key operational and commercial drivers behind performance for the business. You will also need to undertake dailytasks to maintain and monitor the financial systems.
- Making sure financial issues are robustly and effectively managed and reported.
- Provide constructive challenge and input to the financial aspects of business cases, budgets, and forecasts to ensure that opportunities and risks are identified and fully considered.
- Support the subsidiaries in identifying areas of improvements such as efficiencies, process improvements that add value or reduce costs.
- Inform on the impact of long and short term recommendations taken to the company board.

**Skills and experience**
- You will need to have an accountancy qualification and substantial experience preferably in the private sector.
- Have the drive to work both autonomously and in collaboration with others.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills to ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed and understand financial reports.
- A desire to ensure accuracy and integrity of information and reports, with the ability to collate and present data for reports and analysis for others in a clear and concise manner.
