Civils Operative

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Civils Operative to join a well known Tier 1 contractor working on a large water infrastructure programme across the whole of Scotland.

The company is a well know Tier 1 contractor who operate nationwide throughout the UK and have a number of Regional offices. Your role as Civils Operative you will an important part of the site delivery team who are responsible for the construction, testing and commissioning of several large projects.

Key responsibilities for this Civils Operative role:

- Excavating trenches, placing pe bedding material, laying and jointing pipes, backfilling and compacting trenches, mix and lay concrete, operate machinery, using equipment such as drills, pumps and move and unload materials.
- Other duties may include earthworks, fencing, construction of pipeline chambers, and assisting skilled workers, for example bricklayers or joiners.
- Working under instruction and supervision of Gangers, Foreman and General Foreman
- Operating various site plant
- Keeping site tidy and looking after tools and equipment
- Providing assistance to the site team
- Ensuring you are working in a safe manner

Experience required for this Civils Operative role:

- Previous experience in a civil construction environment
- Experience working on waste water and clean water
- Roads and Street works training required
- Experience and understand of cross-country pipeline construction
- NRSWA operative
- Water SHEA & National Water Hygiene (ideal but not essential)
- Good understanding of Health and Safety
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel

- Basic Salary up to £32,500 depending on experience
- 21 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday
