Civils Operative

Comex 2000 is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Civils Operative to join our Fibre Up team in Scotland. If you are a committed, hard-working individual who is eager to learn, come and join the Comex2000 family
- **What are we looking for?**_

We are looking for a skilled Operative to perform excavations; repairs and re-reinstatements; the installation of ducting, chambers, and street cabinets; and the installation of draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway and customer premises. This will be done using up-to-date standard operating procedures, and in full compliance to current legislation, health and safety requirements and company policies.
- **What will you be doing?**_

As a Civils Operative, your core responsibilities will be:

- Providing new installation and repair of network duct for associated customer connections.
- Clearing blockages and restoring the highway to industry standard, ensuring all evidence (data or photos) is captured on company supplied assets i.e. phone or tablet.
- Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
- Installing draw rope and drop cable to relevant connection points following installation/repair of duct works.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for your daily works on job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets and/or van sheets.
- Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification, with a keen focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
- **Skills and Qualifications**_
- Good physical health
- Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry
- Industry recognized street-works qualifications
- Hold a full UK driver’s license
- Hold the following qualifications: NRSWA unit 1 -9, PIA (S7), SA002a
