We are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in an exceptional mainstream school in the London Borough of Wandsworth. You will be working with children and young people from across the school who have designated SEN status. The positionis open to those with relative experience and graduates.

**The Role**

In this role, you will be encouraging and supporting the SEN learners during their school day. You will be expected to assist pupils with their studies and support your key pupils’ mental health and well-being. The role is motivating and rewarding. Any individualwith the right background or attitude will be considered. The role is to begin ASAP until the end of the academic year.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience working with young adults who have SEN status (Desirable)
- Experience in working with, or caring for, vulnerable children or adults who require additional support
- Capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike
- Good oral and written communicative skills
- Good organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to work under pressure
- To be adaptable and flexible in the work you do and lead by example
- To understand that you must be a good role model for students and colleagues alike
- Great opportunities for an individual who enjoys ambitious work in a role that is both highly gratifying

**The School**

This is a mainstream school with an incredibly well-run SEN department that is committed to offering opportunities to its students. The department is specifically designed to support the individual needs of its SEN pupils. The children have varying levelsof ability and learning differences, however, the school have created environments, like the sensory room, to allow their pupils to feel calm and cared for.

The school’s SEN team does everything it can to inspire learners to achieve excellence. Through a unique and creative curriculum, the teaching and support staff work as a team to develop individuals to make a fulfilling contribution to the school and thewider community.
