A welcoming primary school in Wandsworth is recruiting a Sociology Graduate SEN Support Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2. This Sociology Graduate SEN Support Assistant role is perfect for those considering careers in social work, educational psychology, or SEN teaching. The school values staff development and will support you in building skills relevant to SEN and inclusive education.

As a Sociology Graduate SEN Support Assistant, you'll provide targeted one-to-one support for children with Autism, speech and language needs, and social, emotional difficulties. The Sociology Graduate SEN Support Assistant role will give you the opportunity to develop practical classroom skills while making a positive impact. You will also gain experience in monitoring pupil progress and contributing to SEN planning meetings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN across KS1–KS2
  • Delivering small group interventions in literacy and numeracy
  • Encouraging social development and positive behaviour
  • Supporting teachers with lesson planning and delivery

We're looking for:

  • A 2:1 or above in Sociology or a related subject
  • Strong communication and empathy skills
  • Commitment for the academic year
