**Role Introduction**

Frank Howard Tools & Fixings is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Buyer, based in the Braintree Head Office. Using commercial awareness and negotiation experience, you will be responsible for the central buying team, helping develop the commercial strategy and driving efficiencies across all depots.

**Scope of the Role**

The main purpose of the role is to support the Commercial Director, by overseeing all of the daily purchasing requirements for the business, analysing products and creating purchasing plans based on cost, requirements, delivery time and quality of goods. It is important to be able to develop strategies and processes to help the business to be more commercially efficient. The role also requires you to research and evaluate opportunities, understand and monitor stock holding and create long-lasting partnerships with our key suppliers. You will be responsible for managing the daily work-flow of the assistant buyer and will need to set targets and conduct regular performance reviews. The position is highly varied and requires you to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, adaptability and flexibility is key.

**Key Requirements**
- 3+ years experience in similar role, ideally in the FMCG industry
- Commercial awareness and ability to make decisions
- Excellent organisational skills and and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
- Great interpersonal and networking skills
- Proven track record of meeting targets
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written at all levels
- Strong IT and digital Skills, especially Microsoft Office
- High level of attention to detail and great analytical skills
- A great team player with a can-do attitude
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to different situations
- Management and strong leadership skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
