Head of Infrastructure Engineering

As the Head of Infrastructure Engineering, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering, and AutomationTeam. With a deep understanding of DevOps, you will work closely with other leaders within CTO, Head of Cloud Infrastructure Architecture, and Head of Operations and Head of Technical Security, Head of Incident Management and Head of Colleague Services, aswell as the broader CIO and business functions to deliver scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure and across our underlying infrastructure.

This role is not only about technical expertise, but also the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders across the organisation and with third-party partners. You will tackle complex challenges with a holistic approach, considering technical, regulatory,commercial, and organisational aspects to create and implement successful strategies.

**About the role**
- Shape the future of infrastructure engineering capability and set a clear direction in line with company goals.
- Provide your team with the tools and resources they need to develop compelling business cases and drive technical direction.
- Be a key player on the CTO Leadership team, driving innovation and automation to enhance processes and maintain a well-documented knowledge base.
- Collaborate with business and senior IT stakeholders to prioritise projects and chart a clear course for the future.
- Take end-to-end ownership of all Cloud solutions and stay informed of the latest best practices to adopt suitable solutions.
- Attract top talent to the Infrastructure Engineering team and mentor key individuals to cultivate a capable and skilled workforce.
- Ensure a strong succession plan is in place for the continued success of the team.
- Familiarity with managing Suppliers through monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews.
- Manage CTO Risks within your remit using the companies risk system.

**About you**
- Mastery of Azure platform and technologies, including expertise in containerisation and microservices architecture, with a proven ability to deliver innovative solutions and drive exceptional results.
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem and hands-on experience with Azure Machine Learning, Data Science and other relevant technologies.
- Track record of successfully designing, building and deploying scalable, secure and highly available cloud infrastructure using Azure.
- Strong ability to leverage data and advanced analytics to drive decision making and continuously improve cloud solutions.
- Expertise in utilizing Azure DevOps to drive efficient and collaborative development processes.
- Strong understanding of best practices in Agile methodologies and how they can be integrated with Azure DevOps.
- Ability to design and implement workflows and processes in Azure DevOps to enhance collaboration and productivity among development teams.
- Track record of successfully utilising Azure DevOps to streamline development operations and drive improvements in speed, quality, and efficiency.
- Lead the adoption and integration of automation tools and methodologies, driving efficiencies and streamlining processes.
