Join Hastings Direct in our mission to become the Best and Biggest Digital Insurer in the UK.As the Head of Technical Security reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead Security Engineering, Security Operations. With a deep understandingof Security DevOps and Cyber Resilience, you will work closely with other leaders within the CTO function (Head of Infrastructure Engineering, Head of Incident Management, Head of Colleague Experience, Head of Cloud Architecture, and Head of Operations) aswell as the broader CIO organisation. This role will also be a key supporting function for the CISO, second line and business functions to deliver a scalable security operation that is wrapped around our core cloud, colleague and business strategy.
This role is not only about technical expertise, but also the ability to build security communities as well as influence and inspire stakeholders across the organisation and with third-party partners. You will tackle complex challenges with a holistic approach,considering technical, regulatory, commercial, and organisational aspects to create and implement successful strategies and ensure we offer a 24x7 security operations team working closely with our partners.
**About the role**
- Provide operational leadership and direction in shaping the future of security engineering, identity and access management, security operations in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Support the CISO's strategic programme and CISO office as an active member of Hastings CISO forum construct.
- Empower the team with necessary tools, resources, and support to develop and implement effective security solutions and drive technical innovation.
- Partner with the CIO LT and other senior leaders to drive a culture of security across the organisation and prioritise projects based on risk and impact.
- Lead end-to-end implementation and ongoing management of comprehensive security solutions, keeping abreast of industry best practices and trends to ensure the organisation's security posture stays ahead of the curve.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent in the security field, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth for the team.

**About you**
- Operational mastery of environments that use Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Desktop and Defender for Cloud platforms and technologies, using Microsoft to ensure platforms are proactively tested to be compliant with a proven ability to deliver innovativesolutions and drive exceptional results across cutting-edge Kubernetes, micro-service, and classic 3-tier solutions.
- In-depth understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem and hands-on experience with Azure firewalls, Azure Front Door, Microsoft Managed Desktop, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Zscaler, and other relevant technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully designing, building, and deploying scalable, secure, and highly available security infrastructures using Azure.
- Strong ability to leverage data and advanced analytics to drive decision-making and continuously improve security solutions.
- Expertise in utilizing Azure DevOps to drive efficient and collaborative development processes, including building security solutions and updates in code.
