Patient Access Supervisor

A position is vacant for a Patient Access Supervisor within the Patient Access Scheduling Team based in Broomfield Hospital. You will be responsible for supervising a team of Patient Access Officers and dealing with day to day challenges within the department. You will ensure the team adhere to RTT and cancer targets when listing patients for upcoming surgery. We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged mentally, use their initiative and want to develop their skills and role.
Whilst previous experience of working in a similar role or the NHS is advantageous, personal qualities are just as important in this role.

As Patient Access Supervisor you will work closely with your team ensuring that patients are dated in a timely manner, adhering to Trust target for RTT and Cancer.
It’s not always easy dealing with patients and their expectations, however this is what makes the role so rewarding. It is a varied and interesting job and involves performing a range of tasks, including contact with patient as well as administrative tasks. A understanding of RTT would be desirable for this role. The key role of the Patient Access Supervisor is to manage the Patient Access Officers and lead a team to keep them motivated and engaged.

You will also be flexible, motivated and organised with excellent, administration, data management and communication skills. Successful applicants will possess the ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently.

The key responsibilities for the role of patient access supervisor will include working closely with your team of patient access officers to deliver the best patient care throughout the patients pathway. You will deal with daily challenges that arise and use your problem solving skills to resolve such issues. Being the first point of contact for the patient access staff you will need to be approachable, have excellent communication skills to enable you to relay exact information to the Patient Access Manager, when necessary. Supported by the patient access manager you will ensure that targets are met for patients and that treatment is received within trust timescales.
