You will be at the heart of the day to day running of the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), ensuring our staff and any external visitors are kept safe, and our estates maintained to an exceptional standard.

Our work is focused on improving vehicle safety and environmental protection by providing robust testing and certification to national and internationally recognised standards. We are a part of the Department of Transport as the designated UK Vehicle Type Approval Authority. **Job description**:
To enable us to work efficiently and safely as an Agency, we require a proactive and delivery focused Estate and Facilities Management team. You will play a key role in the daily running of our businesses, supporting a range of tasks and responsibilities within the team.
If you are seeking a varied role, this position offers a mix of office-based and practical activities which may also involve you travelling to our UK-based offices for support. Interactions with staff, stakeholders, contractors, customers and visitors will require you to be an effective communicator who takes pride in your work; clearly demonstrating our organisational values in everything you do.
Working across the whole of the Agency, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in your role and team, as well as working with others to understand the requirements and impact of the work they do. Online and in-person training will be of immediate benefit and accessible for you to deliver additional support in your role, as an onsite first aider and fire marshal. You will also be involved in promoting available courses and key messages regarding estates and facilities, collaborating with Corporate Affairs to engage audiences across the VCA’s internal and external communication platforms.

**Your main duties will include but will not be limited to**:
- Proactively support the delivery of a wide range of onsite facilities functions to ensure a high quality, efficient and safe work environment for all colleagues internally and for external customers, contractors and visitors.
- Take responsibility for day-to-day buildings maintenance with practical support where appropriate and ensuring legislative compliance through pre planned maintenance systems, inspections and basic testing.
- Contributing to communications for the VCA’s internal audience on Estate and Facilities updates.
- Raise purchase orders and goods receipting invoices.
**Person specification**:
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks whilst working to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with a good telephone manner.
- A good understanding of, and strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service.
- Must be flexible, adaptable and keen to improve and to learn new skills.
- Full UK driving license.
- Willingness to travel to the VCA’s UK sites, as and when needed, to provide Estate support.
- Willingness to work towards a First Aid qualification.
- Willingness to work towards a Fire Marshall qualification.
