Working in a small maintenance team you will learn the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to be an excellent all round maintenance engineer in a busy bed factory, employing over 200 people. The role will involve on the job training given by experiencedmaintenance engineers plus off the job training working towards a nationally recognised level 3, Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician qualification.
What you'll be doing:

- Maintaining all types of production machinery involved in bed making
- Responding to machine breakdowns across two main production buildings and minimising production losses through fixing machines in a timely manner
- Understanding the principles of TPM and working on proactive maintenance techniques
- Understanding and working to Health and safety standards at all times
- 6 hours off the job training each week
- Working alongside experienced members of the team between hours of 6am-3pm
This list is not extensive, and you will be expected to fulfil additional responsibilities as per business requirements.
A bit about you:

- You will have a genuine interest in fixing machines and have a real desire to forge a career in a maintenance role
- You will be a motivated individual who has an appetite to work and learn new skills
- You will have great attention to detail and be able to work on your own initiative
- As this is a level 3 apprenticeship, you will have some prior experience and / or knowledge of working with machines or level 2 qualifications
