**The Role - Trainee CAD Designer
We are currently offering the opportunity for undergraduate students to join us for a valuable industry placement working within our Steels Department at our Head Office location in Colney Heath.

Our 40 week Placement Programme offers great experience and structured development to students.

You will be expected to contribute and have an impact from day one fulfilling “actual roles” within our operation, supported by relevant job-related training.

Mentored by an experienced manager, you will have the opportunity to learn about the operations, work on specific projects that will support your learning goals and give you real exposure to CAD Design in Structural and Architectural Steel projects.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join our business and get some valuable experience that will enable you to achieve your potential in a Design focused career.

In return, we require you to be eager to learn, keen to get ahead and be willing to experience different aspects of the business.

**What is in it for you?**
- If you are aged between 18 - 20, you will receive an annual salary of £21,000 (pro rata if you work for us for only 40 weeks)
- If you are aged 21 or above, you will receive an annual salary of £27,144 (this will also be pro-rata).

**What we’re looking for from you?**
- You must be in your second year at university on an undergraduate course which enables you to take an Industrial Placement Year (unfortunately if you are graduated you are not eligible)
- Design discipline degree course with AutoCAD or 3D Cad Bias.
- Right to work in the UK
- The desire to take on real responsibility from day one
- The drive and ambition to succeed in an exciting and challenging environment
- A self-starter - who is both curious and enthusiastic
- Innovative and creative (with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills)
- Enthusiasm to learn a broad range of skills and technical logistics capabilities over a short period of time
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- IT literacy

**Selection process**

Once you have applied and if you meet the relevant criteria, you will be contacted by a member of the recruitment team in the first instance for a telephone interview.

From there, you will will be invited to attend a Teams Interview with our Steels Manager and if you meet all of our entry criteria you will be invited in for a face to face interview at Head Office.

If successful, you will then complete a practical assessment at head office which will be the final stage of the selection process.
