You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. We own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and our mission is to make it possible for current and future tenants to live in a place they’re proud to call home.

You’ll be on the front-line of our services, creating trust with our customers by enabling them to remain living independently in a safe, warm and secure environment.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for assessing, supplying and fitting a variety of disability equipment in customers’ homes including grab rails, toilet frames, stair rails, home security equipment and various other items. All while working with and up to scratch with our Health and Safety policies.

Communication is key, through providing an excellent standard of customer service, you will create trust with our customers - which is super important to this role. Working with third parties to ensure the best service and outcome is gained for our customers, paperwork must be completed accurately and in a timely manner.

What do we need from you?

Experience in undertaking repairs and joinery/carpentry work to fit minor adaptations within the homes of elderly or disabled - knowledge of safeguarding our customers is a must

An understanding of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with both external stakeholders and customers

A willingness to learn and undertake training when required

Due to the nature of this role, you must hold a full, current clean UK driving license with access to a vehicle for work purposes and the ability to work outside of normal hours if required.

Ideally, we are looking for one of these roles to be based around York. But if you are considering relocating or already live in or around those areas and willing to travel - lets chat.

Sounds good? We’d love to hear from you.

The finer print

You'll need to be able to get to our Northallerton office around once a week so this needs to be commutable. Interviews will also take place here.
