A vital position is now available with **Bury Council**as a **Planning Officer.**This role is available immediately on an initial 6-month temporary contract.

**What is the role?**

Bury Council are now looking to appoint two experienced Planning Officers to assist the Council with its duties set out in various planning and amenity acts.

In this role you will be given responsibility for guidance and management of development and enforcement of regulations to provide a better planning environment.

**How can you help?**
- Administer Planning Appeals Process and Planning Enforcement action and prepare associated reports and recommendations.
- Prepare written statements and representations for planning appeals and site visits.
- Analyse policy, guidance, and other information to develop clear and concise content for the appropriate medium (self-service or CRM).
- Handle appeal cases for complex proposals, incorporating views of organisations and persons consulted.

**What background do you need?**
- Hold a planning degree, diploma, or other equivalent qualification.
- Ability to deliver comprehensive project plans, ensuring all resources are in place prior to work commencing.
