We are looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to support a children’s home based in Canvey Island, the salary is up to £25,000 depending on experience, there are lots of benefits and its a rewarding place to work.

You must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in residential care and have 2 years experience working in Residential Childcare settings., You will have the opportunity to make a huge difference within a child’s life. Helping them to overcome any difficulties or disadvantages they may face - allowing them to strengthen their future. You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support. They may also require your guidance within education, training and employment.

Within this leadership role, you will not only ensure the welfare and care of each child but also give guidance and support to all residential workers. You will be committed to making a difference, this includes being responsible for staff supervision, leading shifts, ensuring placement plans are followed, policies, procedures, risk assessments, rotas and making sure that education is supported.

The rota pattern which includes some evenings and weekends ensures consistency for the children and young people whilst providing you with flexibility and the means for training and progression.

You will ensure all policies and procedures, as well as risk assessments, are adhered to at all times and ensure that all staff read the Daily Log Book to check all messages. You will ensure that all staff have written up any incident / accident forms or restraint forms as applicable and that such information is passed to the Registered Manager.

You will assist or undertake effective supervisions as required and offer advice and encouragement to supervised staff with regard to individual training needs. You will raise any concerns regarding an individual member of staff’s progress or attitude with the Registered Manager.
