**Private Patient Liaison**

**Location**: Greater Lancashire Hospital, Wyder Court, Preston, PR2 5BW

**Reports to**: Operational Lead, Business Lead and Finance Director

**Salary**: £25,000 (pro-rata for part time roles)

**Hours: 30 hours per week over 5 days**

**Profile**

**1. Overview**:
The Private Patient Liaison will assist in delivering the whole patient service within the remit of

Greater Lancashire Hospital. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties as determined by the Operational Lead and those listed under responsibilities with this job description.

**2. Governance**:

- The Private Patient Liaison reports to the Operational Lead and Business Lead and is required to operate within the limits of the policies and procedures of Bespoke Healthcare Limited.

**3. Skills and experience**:

- Experience in appointment bookings - ideally in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of patient administration systems essential.
- Good organisational skills and a systematic approach to work with care taken over detail and due regard to confidentiality.
- Able to work independently and act on own initiative.
- Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressures.
- Enjoys a fast pace, dynamic, challenging and team-orientated work environment.
- Computer literate in MS Office e.g. Word, Excel and other window-based programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Experience working in office environment and supporting a team

**4. Qualifications**:

- ECDL qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential.

**5. Personal attributes**:

- Good interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction with clinicians, patients and colleagues.
- Self-motivation and a flexible disposition.
- Action-orientated, able to think and act ahead of time.
- Committed to achieving results and ability to work under pressure.

**6. Responsibilities**:
Acknowledge full responsibility for all aspects of the patient booking process and ensure all stages are completed at the appropriate times to ensure safe, precise and efficient booking of all cases.
- Timely and precise booking of patient appointments.
- To convert Self Pay and Private enquiries and consultations to booked procedures at

GLH within pre-agreed targets.
- To ensure a quality service for private patients, including an accurate and timely response to all enquiries.
- To actively promote all Private services within GLH in conjunction with external suppliers to coordinate the marketing strategy across all social media platforms and the

Company website.
- To ensure all aspects of all Private services, involving all Private Consultants, are fully organised in a timely and efficient manner.
- Deal effectively with clinic & patient appointment cancellations.
- Reactive, prompt and polite action when dealing with patient and Consultant queries.
- Maintenance of the Patient Management System (PMS) recording all interactions with patients
- Ensuring patients’ privacy and dignity is respected at all times.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Ensuring good working relationships are always maintained with all clients.
- Ensure all aspects of the patient journey are accurately and completely recorded including patient demographics, appointment history, clinical reports/outcomes.
- Very flexible working hours to cover overtime, holidays and sick days.
- Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Operational Lead, Business Lead,

Chairman and Director.

**10. Risk Management**:

- Bespoke Healthcare strives to take a holistic approach to the management of risk across all areas of the business. Health and Safety, Caldicott, Corporate and Clinical Governance requirements are all elements of risk management
- Risk management is fundamental in ensuring the safety of all employees whilst on the company’s premises and in ensuring that a high level of quality care is continually provided.

To support staff in the management of risk; the company provides training programmes and facilitates staff in the use of risk management identification tools. In turn, individuals are responsible for ensuring that they attend training sessions and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, which includes the reporting of incidents, both actual and near miss.
