**Ambulance Patient Transport Support Worker**

**JOB SUMMARY**
- **To support staff in the delivery of patient-focused care.**:
- **To provide safe and appropriate transport of service users between designated locations.**:
- **Be committed to personal development.**:
- **Work as a team to ensure we are providing a first-class service and assistance to patients within defined parameters.**:
- **Record patient information and driving records, utilising the innovative electronic systems and complete paper-based records as required.**:
- **To work under instruction from the control rooms and senior staff.**:
- **To work to company standards, policies and procedures, operating away from a central workplace in small teams or independently.**:
- **Carry out daily checks of vehicles using our bespoke electronic PDA system.**:
- **Report any vehicles/ equipment defects using the PDA terminal.**:
- **Ensure confidentiality is maintained.**:
- **Maintain and update paper-based records in the event of loss of electronic services.**:
- **Support new members of the PTSW family into the company and their role.**:
- **Full ambulance operations training and moving and handling training is provided, up to First Response Emergency Level 3 (External Qualsafe Regulated).**
**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Work effectively with colleagues in order to achieve the desired outcome that promotes the well-being of service users.**:
- **Determine the comfort of service users by talking and listening to them and building up a rapport.**:
- **Ensure that all care provided by yourself is documented on the accompanying job sheet.**:
- **Recognise changes in service users’ condition**:
- **Instigate medical emergency procedures, e.g. CPR.**:
- **Ensure dignity and privacy and that individual needs are met.**:
- **Assist in ensuring that effective channels are used to canvas the views and concerns of all service users.**:
- **Be responsible for high standards of cleanliness and follow all guidelines set by infection control policy.**:
- **Undertake training and practice of agreed competencies.**:
- **To be mindful of the welfare and safety of vulnerable adults and children.**
