**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**JOB TITLE **PERSONAL ASSISTANT (WAKING NIGHTS)
**RESPONSIBLE TO**: DOMICILIARY CARE MANAGER
**RATE OF PAY**: £11.50 PER HOUR
**Overall Purpose of job**:
To provide a service to adults with a learning disability that promotes and facilitates independence and choice in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures and all relevant legislation.
**Main Duties**:
- Provide personal care and support for service users preparing for bed and throughout the night consistent with individual care plans and needs.
- To support service users in maintaining their emotional, physical, spiritual, cultural and psychological well-being.
- Uphold and promote the rights, dignity, respect and choices of service users.
- To undertake household duties as specified by the manager.
- To monitor service users throughout the night as required by the individual care plans.
- To record and report significant events occurring throughout the night.
- To maintain records consistent with the service and legal requirements.
- Act in accordance with the organisations health and safety policy.
- To provide the senior staff with any information that affects the well being of service users or service operation.
- To be the responsible person on duty in the absence of senior staff.
- To attend meetings and provide written reports as required.
- To participate and contribute to the implementation of the organisations programme of quality, improvement plans, monitoring and evaluation.
- To receive and provide a verbal handover to outgoing/incoming staff.
- To undertake any other duties as may be allocated by managers in line with the level of responsibility expected of a support worker.
Staff will check in and check out each appointment using a mobile device (own device) which is a contractual requirement with Birmingham City Council.
