Programme Support Officer

The Band 5 Programme Support Officers (PSO) within Health Education England provide a vital role in the smooth running of the teams in which they work. PSOs are responsible for the coordination of post graduate education and training across a specified area as well as the provision of senior administrative and project support services for Programme Support/Postgraduate Schools within HEE.
Duties vary by team and can include a wide range of tasks including communications with trainees and trainers, liaison with administrative and clinical colleagues internally and externally, working with financial and administrative information to process invoices and raise purchase orders and providing secretarial support for meetings.
**The postholder will**:
- Work as part of a team to co-ordinate and implement specific workstreams and team functions
- Line manage staff
- Provide a comprehensive administrative service
- Be a point of contact within HEE for external stakeholders, including learners, trainers and external organisations
- Work independently within a defined function to achieve agreed outcomes
- Provide support to the whole team as required including cross cover
- Administration lead for a variety of workstreams
- Meeting coordination for large committees including minute taking
- Maintenance of databases
- Dealing with sensitive and confidential information
