This is a hands-on leadership role—while you’ll provide strategic direction and line management to a developing team of Release Managers and a Business Analyst, you’ll also directly manage releases for a key product group made up of three delivery teams.

Your mission will be to create and embed a predictable, low-risk, and scalable release process that improves confidence across internal teams and customers. You’ll drive consistency, reduce critical incidents, and play a key role in increasing stakeholder satisfaction with our product delivery approach.

- Coach the team on best practices, helping to mature release operations and support professional growth.

**Hands-On Release Management**
- Directly own the release lifecycle for a product group with three delivery teams, from planning through to deployment.
- Drive toward predictable delivery outcomes, targeting 90% of releases delivered on schedule with no critical post-release incidents.
- Coordinate dependencies, unblock delivery teams, and manage stakeholder expectations to keep releases on track.

**Process Ownership & Improvement**
- Establish consistent, repeatable, and well-documented release processes across teams.
- Standardise tooling, templates, and checkpoints to ensure scalable and efficient release governance.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to streamline delivery, reduce risk, and increase confidence in the release pipeline.

**Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication**
- Act as the central point of contact for cross-functional release coordination across Product, Engineering, QA, Marketing, and Operations.
- Provide clear, tailored communication for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency of release plans, risks, and outcomes.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving internal satisfaction with product delivery processes, with a goal of achieving 70%+ satisfaction in internal surveys.

**Metrics, Reporting & Success Measurement**
- Define and track KPIs related to release quality, timeliness, and incident rates.
- Use data and stakeholder feedback to inform process improvements and demonstrate progress against team goals.
- Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives following each release cycle.

**Success in This Role Looks Like**
- A scalable, low-risk release process is embedded and trusted across the organisation.
- 90% of releases are delivered on schedule with no critical post-release incidents.
- Documented, repeatable release processes are used consistently across all teams.
- Internal satisfaction with release and delivery processes exceeds 70% in annual surveys.

- A deep understanding of Agile and SDLC processes, with the ability to drive improvements without adding unnecessary overhead.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate delivery complexity into clear updates.
