The Mental Health, Inclusion, Neglected Tropical Disease and Disability (MIND) research group is committed to supporting the development of person-centred health systems that are inclusive of people affected by chronic disease, disability and mental health conditions.
Due to maternity cover, we’ve created a fixed-term opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to the MIND team in its delivery of high-quality technical oversight of a portfolio of multi-country, multi-partner research consortia across Africa and Asia. The postholder will contribute towards several projects focussed on the integration on neglected tropical diseases and mental health services, alongside programmes aimed at improving mental health wellbeing in community health workers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and lead operational health systems research within the MIND research unit, focusing on qualitative and participatory methods.
- Analyse qualitative and participatory research data to support programme objectives.
- Design and implement mental well-being interventions for community health workers in collaboration with teams in Bangladesh and Kenya.
- Identify priorities of affected communities to ensure equitable management of neglected tropical diseases and mental health conditions.
- Contribute to recommendations for scaling up quality interventions within existing health systems.
- Develop innovative methodological tools and build partner capacity for harmonised, multidisciplinary research.
- Conduct workshops and training in qualitative research methods, software, and other relevant topics.
- Support literature reviews, data analysis, intervention development, and other research activities while ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards.
