We have an incredible opportunity here at Phoenix Group to join our Actuarial and Capital Management team as a Senior Commercial and Propositions Actuary.

**The role**

As our new Commercial and Propositions Actuary you will play a key role within our Actuarial and Capital Management team, providing actuarial input to our growing Open Division, with a particular focus on Retirement Solutions, to ensure that pricing and other key actuarial frameworks support the commercial aims of the Group whilst maintaining appropriate risk management and controls standards required to deliver value for customers and shareholders safely.

Reporting to the Commercial and Propositions Business Partner you will support in the development and maintenance of the actuarial framework for proposition launch, including new products and new assets, for pricing bulk-purchase and individual annuities and for capital allocation and other actuarial methodologies within wider new business pricing activities. You will support the team in working closely with the Commercial Function within our Retirement Solutions Business Unit to support the development of capital optimisation plans and other management actions, aligning these with Internal Model, Matching Adjustment and other wider capital management developments led by other teams within the wider Actuarial and Capital Management team, supporting the Commercial Function in the development and reporting of MI on key performance metrics to senior stakeholders.

To succeed in this role you need a highly commercial, yet risk-focussed mind-set and an ability to gain credibility and make an impact on senior stakeholders throughout our business.

**What are we looking for?**
- A qualified Actuary with a proven track record and relevant industry experience with a strong technical ability
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate on multi-team activities, often leading on projects that span several departments’ remits
- Great commercial awareness, understanding what drives the financial success of a growing FTSE100 Life Insurer and balancing this with sound risk-management approaches
- Ability to deliver timely target outcomes whilst working in cross-functional initiatives
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
