Senior with Profits Technical Actuary

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior With Profits Technical Actuary to join our With Profits Modernisation programme.

**The role**

Phoenix is the second largest provider of with-profits business in the UK with 22 With-Profits Funds. We are about to embark on a large strategic programme to simplify and modernise the way we manage our with-profits business, ensuring we are delivering good outcomes to our with-profits customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on this journey helping to shape and deliver our longer term strategy.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Use of your actuarial expertise to develop proposals and solutions for the modernisation programme, ensuring the needs of with profits customers are being met and presenting these to a range of stakeholders.
- Manage the specification, development and testing of actuarial models projecting the run off of our with profits funds, providing detailed interpretation and making recommendations to senior management to support decision making.
- Quantitatively analyse projected risk exposures of different with profits funds, identifying initiatives that would be expected to optimise risk exposures for policyholders.
- Lead the preparation of papers and reports for senior management, committees and potentially the Regulator, including conducting analysis, preparing recommendations and providing sign off prior to circulation.
- Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience. and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Regularly work to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.

**What are we looking for?**
- Senior qualified actuary with experience in the life insurance industry
- Experience of contributing to and/or leading projects to deliver strategic change, ideally in relation to with profits business
- You will ideally have With Profits experience including a deep understanding of risks and issues associated with managing with profits funds in run off
