**Summary**:
The Home Office is here to make the UK safer. Border Force is a Law Enforcement arm of the Home Office with primary responsibility for UK Border Security, including counter terrorism, immigration and customs matters.
We are responsible for handling the UK border control by implementing immigration and customs regulations and working with the wider Home Office on counter terrorism, organised crime, modern slavery and trafficking. Border Force has five operational regions in the UK: North, Central, Heathrow, South and South East & Europe. These regions have responsibility for securing the border 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at the UK’s 140 seaports, airports, 200+ general aviation ports, postal depots and international rail network. This includes the Eurostar from Brussels and Paris to St Pancras International and the Eurotunnel from Coquelles to Cheriton, where Border Force has juxtaposed controls.

**Job description**:
The Border Force South Recruitment and Resourcing Team is a friendly and supportive team covering a wide portfolio of work. This is an exciting role, being involved with, and influencing, a variety of Border Force recruitment services, making a positive difference to Border Force operations.
The team covers a wide range of support services including workforce planning, new recruitment campaigns and associated support to ensure we get the right people with the right skills. The recruitment team work closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Home Office Resourcing Centre (HORC) and other stakeholders.
Although some home working may be available, you will be based in one of the South Region ports mentioned in the advert and expected to travel to other ports within region as required.
The team operates on a Monday to Friday office model (0800 - 1730) but there is a need for a degree of flexibility around hours of attendance given the nature of the work. There is no Annualised Hours Agreement (AHA) rate with this post.
**Responsibilities**:
Primary duties will include but are not limited to:
- Liaising with a wide variety of Stakeholders and Senior Managers
- Taking the lead in, ensuring all the team’s documentation on the various campaigns is kept up to date, providing updates, highlighting key milestones and risks to managers / senior leaders
- All aspects of staffing & recruitment including:
- Drafting and issuing advertisements
- Uploading vacancy request’s onto Home Office computer systems (Metis)
- Liaising with vacancy holders with regards to their campaigns
- Forwarding sift and interviews packs to vacancy holders
- Assuring sift and interview returns to HORC
- Issuing posting letters, letters designating relevant powers and warrants
- Liaising with the Training Team to ensure that all the necessary training required is place for all new and existing Border Force Officers
**Essential Criteria**:
- An excellent level of computer literacy including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be confident when working with the senior leadership team, internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work / cope under pressure with limited supervision and prioritise workloads effectively
- Good relationship building skills and the ability to work as part of a small team
**Desirable Criteria**:
- Good standard of written English
- A full Driving Licence is not necessary, but the post holder will be expected to attend Ashdown House for regular meetings of the team
