**Description**:
Kings House provides compassionate support to individuals experiencing complex mental health issues, driven by an enthusiastic, professional staff team dedicated to providing person centred care. The support delivered is tailored to and developed with an individual encompassing all aspects of wellbeing including mental, physical, spiritual and daily living skills. Our goal is to increase independence and feelings of accomplishment & assisting people to move on to more independent living. The service is ran in collaboration with service users, encouraging feedback and involvement in all areas of decision making. Kings House is a CQC Registered Accommodation Service based close to Westbourne Centre.

The service accommodates 17 residents & a variety of activities are held daily to encourage service user participation to develop skills, learn new coping strategies and to arouse new interests. The service is staffed 24 hours with two members of staff sleeping in overnight.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Establish and maintain relationships of trust with service users, to build engagement
2. Work flexibly with service users and help them set, prioritise and achieve personal goals, to increase
hope, motivation and ambition
3. Value the lived experience of service users and enable them to use that experience to support each
other and improve their experience
4. Carry out assessments and determine urgency of service user needs
5. Work with professionals from other agencies and make onward referrals
6. Carry out risk assessments, in order to keep service users safe and improve the quality of our
support
7. Attend placement reviews
8. Work with service users on a 1:1 basis and in groups
9. Assist service users to; navigate the benefits and education systems; manage friendships and family
relationships; manage medication, including supporting people by prompting and/or administering
medication according to Together procedures; manage their lives by helping with bills, forms, mail
and appointments, accompanying service users to appointments as and when necessary
10. Undertake, and assist with, domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning, ensuring adherence to
infection control (training provided)
11. Assist service users with personal care as and when required
12. Adhere to the Together policy on lone working
13. Make timely records which are concise, accurate, written for the service user to understand, using
Together computer-based systems
14. Write clear word processed and handwritten reports (training provided) and records in English
15. Participate in mandatory and job-related courses and learning activities
16. Maintain professional boundaries in all aspects of work with service users

**Skills, Knowledge & Expertise**:
**Essential**
1. Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals gained from paid work and/or voluntary and/or life
experience
2. Minimum of GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent
4. Able to travel; have access to car/public transport
5. Able to work a varying pattern of shifts on a 24 hour 7-day week rota, with notice
6. DBS clearance
7. Demonstrate a non-judgemental attitude and able to be empathetic towards service users and
create a trusting environment
8. Able to work in partnership with services users and establish and maintain professional boundaries
9. Able to establish and maintain a safe environment
10. Willing and able to undertake domestic tasks with, and for, service users as necessary
11. Demonstrate problem-solving skills relating to welfare benefits, education and relationships
12. Open to - and willing to participate in - formal and informal job-related learning
13. Willing and able to collaborate with colleagues and other organisations
15. Able to produce clear records and reports in English
**Desirable**
1. Lived experience of mental distress
2. NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
